Preparing for a transition: start journaling

Preparing for a transition: start journaling

There are moments when you can feel something shifting before you can put it into words. A chapter is ending. Something no longer feels right. Or perhaps you feel ready for something new. Transitions can be exciting, but they can also feel uncertain. Instead of rushing to figure out what's next, pause and create space for what is changing within you.

Start with journaling

Journaling can be a simple way to slow down and listen to yourself. Find a quiet space,  put your phone away and let your thoughts move onto the page without editing them.

Ask yourself:
What am I ready to leave behind?
What have I outgrown?
What am I ready to make space for?
How do I want to feel in my next chapter?

Don't search for the perfect answers. Let yourself be curious. Writing things down can help us see what we already know but haven't yet allowed ourselves to say.

Create a sensory ritual

Once you've reflected on what you're leaving behind, choose what you want to carry forward. Pick one word to represent your next chapter — clarity, courage, openness, joy.

Spray your NEH fragrance. Take a slow breath. Repeat the affirmations. Let the scent become a sensory reminder of the state you want to embody.

You don't need to know everything

A transition doesn't require you to have the entire path figured out.
You can pause.
You can change direction.
You can begin again.

Transformation isn't about becoming someone else. It's about coming closer to yourself. So before you step into what's next, take a moment to close the chapter you're leaving, honor what it taught you, and make space for what wants to emerge.

Open your journal.
Choose your intention.
Let your scent mark the moment.

You don't need to know exactly where you're going. You only need to be willing to take the next step.
